Last One Standing is a print & play narrative dice minigame to resolve duels, contests, and personal challenges in tabletop roleplaying games. It’s for conflicts like public debates, bardic contests, boxing matches or formal duels. It’s intended to inject drama at the table for those situations where a single dice roll would be anti-climactic and you want a little back-and-forth, or for the type of low-stakes brawl that demands resolution but not a full combat scene. The instructions occasionally refer to typical d&d ability scores, but this minigame is otherwise system-agnostic.

It’s a simple dice game using D10s and play mats with hand-drawn art. There are two versions, the first is called Battle of the Bards and it’s for contests of creative skill or intellectual challenges. Then there’s the Dueling Procedures for tests of martial prowess, which has a Parry mechanic to inject some strategy and tension.

I’ve used this little minigame at my home table for a while now, it’s great for settling big public conflicts with NPCs. I hope you get some mileage out of it too. You can preview the entire thing before buying

Screen and print versions are both included with purchase and the play mats are not at all necessary for the minigame. But seriously print it out, it's all black&white and intentionally cheap cheap cheap to print. The little playmats aren't necessary but the players get excited and it helps hype up the showdown.
