There's a new soup shack at the edge of town and it only opens at night, serving thick bowls of mushroom stew steeped in foreign spices. Rumors spread among the locals about the mind-enhancing effects of the exotic additives, and now mercenaries and tomb robbers are lining up nightly to get a bowl. Naturally, the Murdoch smuggling clan wants in on this action. If you can figure out the secret ingredient,  they'll pay a nice sum. But if you can secure them a permanent supply, well... what's your asking price?

Well Past Midnight in the Moonlight Kitchen is a weird little adventure for a party of levels 2-4. It's designed to be run in a single session of diplomacy, exploration and increasing oddity. The players expect a simple negotiation mission but it quickly spirals into an unexpected dungeon crawl that exposes bizarre forces at work beneath the town. There's not a ton of treasure in here, but it's a great gonzo one-shot session and there are lots of opportunities for leveraging the Invigorating Mixture in a longer campaign. Plus there's a bunch of mushroom people using a Flail Snail as a guard dog.

This adventure is part of a series of lovingly handcrafted zine-style OSR modules with intricate hand-drawn maps, intended to showcase unique and consequential locations for low-level parties to experience in the oldschool, exploratory style. All the art is hand-drawn by real people and always will be. My goal is to show off low-level adventures with some real depth and interaction, more than simple dungeoncrawls. They are generally compatible with Basic Fantasy, Old-School Essentials, Shadowdark, Labyrinth Lord, DCC, Five Torches Deep, and most other OSR-style rulesets. You can easily convert them into modern systems if that's your thing. Every adventure is thoroughly playtested with multiple groups at my own table so you can be sure that you're not getting some dashed-off nonsense here, these are gonna give you a good time. You can preview the entire thing before buying.

It looks small because it is. This is basically a one-page dungeon/scenario, designed with all the critical stuff on a single sheet. Screen and print versions are both included with purchase but seriously print it out, it's all black&white and intentionally cheap cheap cheap to print.
